EDUCATION PROJECT
The FGCU Cancer Research Program has implemented its Education Project here in Southwest Florida! The goal of the education project is to “Demystify Cancer” and teach students about the biological basis of cancer. With over 1.5 million new diagnoses per year in the United States, we have all been touched by cancer in some way or another.
By teaching the community about the biology of cancer, we aim to provide the audience with a toolkit to understand cancer. Our curriculum consists of a PowerPoint presentation, engaging notes for students, a lab component, as well as pre- and post-surveys.
If you would a presentation at your school or community center, please
